Thought Bubble

The Thought Bubble Festival is the UK’s largest event of its kind – an annual celebration of sequential art in all its forms, including everything from superhero comics to independent and small-press artists and writers.

2014’s festival programme will run from 9th – 16th November, and will include free art and writing based workshops for young people and adults, a two day academic conference, talks and masterclasses led by industry professionals, and a programme of sequential art related film screenings.

This special two day convention includes an incredible line-up of leading artists and writers, and over 300 tables showcasing the best sequential art has to offer. The weekend will also feature portfolio viewings and competitions, as well as a huge cosplay parade. This promises to be one of the best events of its kind in the UK, as comics are being celebrated in style!

Aesthetica Short Film Festival

The BAFTA Qualifying ASFF: Aesthetica Short Film Festival is a celebration of independent film from across the world, and an outlet for supporting and championing short filmmaking. One of the UK’s most exciting site-specific events, this year’s festival will take place in 15 iconic venues across the historic city of York from 6 – 9 November 2014. Moving between medieval halls, galleries, museums and cinemas, ASFF invites audiences to create their own unique viewing experience.

The films span a diverse range of genres from comedy to music video, drama to documentary, and animation to artists’ film. New for 2014, ASFF showcases outstanding works from the fashion and advertising industries, working with London College of Fashion to establish a place for serious discussion about fashion film; its identity, responsibility to society and impact on visual culture. Ridley Scott Associates and Jigsaw will reveal the art of advertising and how filmmakers collaborate with brands.
