Mountain bike world cup excitement on Dalby Forest’s trails

There’s more World Cup excitement in North Yorkshire in April this year, when 500 of the world’s top mountain bikers descend on Dalby Forest for a demanding stage of the World Mountain Bike Championships.

The championships take place at the venue near Pickering on the weekend of 24-25 April. More than 10,000 spectators are expected, so if you’re a mountain biking fan it’s time to start planning your visit.

But even when the event is over, there’s plenty of space for all on Dalby’s spreading network of woodland trails, including a new, four-mile ‘World Cup’ trail opened by the Forestry Commission last summer.

The World Cup decision sets the seal on the £4.1 million Dalby project, which since 2004 has seen the creation of 55 kilometres of single-track bike routes, together with Dalby’s award-winning visitor centre and the swish Courtyard development. Click here to find out more about the event.
