Independent stores and international brands house the 280 unit complex, so finding what you’re after wont be a problem!

“A mecca for shopaholics”, “Just the best shopping centre” and “lucky to have on my doorstep” are just a few of the rave reviews of Meadowhall. The choices are endless. Feeling hungry? Batley, located close to both Leeds and Bradford and just off the M62, is home to The Mill Outlet, the biggest retail mill in the UK. It is also home to permanent discounts of 30% and more across ranges including homeware, furniture, fashion and gifts!

Visitors to The Mill are rarely disappointed and they often to return there citing the fact that it is based outside the large cities and therefore less repetitive than the city centre outlets. We can only agree with this! The independent shops give a plethora of choice and you can easily spend most of the day there, considering the range of eateries available to you.

The Mill is open until 5:30 pm or 5 o’clock on Sundays and is accessible by car, bus and train!

One of Yorkshire’s newest shopping developments, Vangarde Shopping Park stands out due to its stylish design and the fact that it brings a John Lewis to York (something that pleases a certain blogger who has recently bought a house in York…)

On top of the John Lewis department store, with its delicious Hotel Chocolat café inside, the shopping park also has the region’s largest M&S store, a state of the art Next and plenty of tasty eateries for those looking to break up their retail therapy. A personal favourite is Ed’s Easy Diner, a retro American-style diner that serves up all the American classics – the shakes being a particular highlight.

On top of all of this, Vangarde is aiming to be one of the most sustainable retail developments in the UK by implementing renewable energy technology, using sustainable materials and developing improved public transport access and new cycling routes.
